Volunteer as a School Governor!
Geddington CofE Primary School is on the lookout for sharp minds, big hearts, and fresh perspectives to help shape the future of education. You don’t need to be a teacher – just someone who’s ready to ask the right questions, support the right decisions, and champion the right changes.
No experience? No problem. You’ll get full training and support – all you need is a commitment to helping young people thrive.
What the school offers its staff

What do governors actually do?
• Help set the school’s vision and strategy
• Support and challenge the headteacher
• Make decisions on budgets, performance, and policies
• Be a critical friend, not a clipboard-wielding inspector
Time commitment? We have 8 meetings per year, plus a bit of reading, a few school visits during the daytime and enthusiasm in between. That’s less time than you’ve probably spent watching Netflix this month.

Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff, volunteers and trustees to share this commitment. Our recruitment process follows the keeping children safe in education guidance. Offers of employment may be subject to the following checks (where relevant): childcare disqualification Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) medical online and social media prohibition from teaching right to work satisfactory references suitability to work with children You must tell us about any unspent conviction, cautions, reprimands or warnings under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975.
