The Aspire Federation has four sites based in Hindley Green, Bryn, Abram and Leigh. Whilst the post will initially be based at one site, please be advised that the post holder may be required to work across all of the federated sites.
The Role
We are in an exciting position and looking to appoint a dynamic, inspirational and creative teacher to lead the Science Department.
The Post Holder is required to provide clear and effective leadership for all staff involved in the teaching of Science throughout Oakfield.
This includes:
- Evaluating and monitoring teaching, learning and attainment to ensure a personalised curriculum is available for all.
- Gathering and analysing data to inform teaching
- Provide clear and effective leadership for all staff in the department
- Whole school and subject evaluation including judgments and evidence linked to the Ofsted criteria.
- Implementation of agreed improvements resulting from self-evaluation.
- Review schemes of work to ensure national standards are being met.
- Leading high impact initiatives/projects
- Using research to promote outstanding pedagogy
- Developing and supporting a team
- Delivering high impact continuing professional development
- Delivering cross curricular projects
The Post Holder is required to contribute to the work of the Leadership Team as requested by the Head of school.
