About the Position
Start Date: November 2025
Contract Type: Non-Teaching (Permanent) (Six Month Probationary Period)
Salary Grade: Prince Henry’s Support Staff Pay Scale Range - B Points 8 to 13
Salary Range: £21,288 to £22,998 – dependant on experience
Hours: 37 Hours per week, Term Time only – plus TED x 5 days
Responsible to: Mr B Freeman, Senior Deputy Headteacher, Mrs S Thorner, Senior Teacher
We are seeking to appoint a Attendance Officer & Reintegration Coordinator at Prince Henry’s High School. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and reliable person to play a key part in managing the attendance for the school, safeguarding of students and supporting the wider pastoral teams.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of student absence and supporting initiatives designed to promote good attendance. This includes assisting pastoral staff, primarily Deputy Heads of Year (DHOY), in developing good practice models for identifying, supporting and challenging poor attendance and welfare issues. The role includes collating information with regard to the attendance of students who may be experiencing severe attendance difficulties working closely with the Education Welfare Officer.
The Reintegration Support Co-ordinator is responsible for co-ordinating support for persistently absent students who find themselves unable to access school because of physical or mental health issues. This will involve building relationships with the students themselves, liaising with key members of the Attendance Team, subject teachers and parents/carers.
As both of these roles will involve working with some of the school’s most vulnerable students and their parents/carers, the post holder must have a calm manner, which can be authoritative and/or supportive and empathetic, as required.
Discretion and maintaining strict confidentiality are essential attributes for both roles, as are maintaining strict Safeguarding procedures and possessing excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work under pressure.
