Your new role
We are working with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Newton-le-Willows who are seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join their Key Stage 2 team, supporting a vibrant and engaging Year 3 class. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about education and eager to make a meaningful impact on children's learning and wellbeing.
The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to support the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning. You will assist in preparing resources, managing classroom routines, and providing targeted support to pupils both individually and in small groups. You will play a vital role in promoting positive behaviour, encouraging independence, and helping pupils to access the curriculum confidently and successfully.

We are looking for someone who holds a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent), with experience working in a primary school setting-ideally within Key Stage 2. You should be proactive, patient, and adaptable, with excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to supporting children's development. A good understanding of safeguarding practices and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals is essential.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent
  • Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting
  • Experience or familiarisation with SEN
  • A flexible and proactive approach to classroom support
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • An up to date Overseas Police Check if you have been living outside the UK
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Full right to work in the UK
