Your new role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the St Helens area. You will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils in KS2, helping to deliver engaging lessons and providing targeted support to children who need it most.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the class teacher in delivering high-quality learning experiences
- Working with small groups and individual pupils to boost attainment
- Assisting with classroom management and behaviour
- Helping to prepare resources and learning materials
- Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Providing targeted support to pupils with additional learning needs, including SEND
- Supporting children with emotional, social, or behavioural challenges
- Leading small group interventions in literacy, numeracy, and other curriculum areas
- Helping to maintain a calm and focused classroom atmosphere
What you'll need to succeed
- Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
- Experience working within a KS2 setting
- A genuine passion for education and child development
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
- Full right to work in the UK
- Willing to obtain references
- An up to date Overseas Police Check if you have been living outside the UK
