UUK’s Public Affairs Team plans and delivers our programme of political and parliamentary engagement, and provides the secretariat for the All Party Parliamentary Universities Group (APPUG). The Public Affairs Team is part of UUK’s Communications Group, delivering on all of the organisation’s digital, media and communications needs.
Our Senior Public Affairs Manager plays a significant role in building relationships with politicians, government, think tanks, and other key stakeholders on behalf of UUK and our sector. This role helps make sure that UUK’s strategic priorities are heard by key influential audiences.
The post-holder is the lead colleague engaging with the APPUG, devising a programme of work, and managing events, operations and budgets for the group.
This is a role for someone who is a confident public affairs professional with experience in Westminster or Whitehall and with great political nous. There is plenty of room for bringing in your ideas, using your great written and verbal communications skills, and you’ll need to be able to manage a diverse range of responsibilities, both independently and as part of a team.
This is a fixed-term maternity cover position, expected to last twelve months.
