Rehousing Pathway Officer (Ref: RPO)

Full time 1-year Fixed term contract

Are you looking for your next career move? Broxbourne Borough Council’s Housing Advice Service is recruiting for a professional and enthusiastic person to join its ambitious and innovative Financial Inclusion and support team. You would be working with a dedicated team supporting those who are experiencing homelessness to secure settled accommodation.
Ideally, we are seeking someone with previous experience in a Local Authority homelessness setting and a good understanding of relevant legislation. This is a varied and rewarding role involving case management, collaborative working with partner agencies, and using your initiative to make a real difference. You’ll need to be highly motivated, genuinely passionate about helping others, and experienced in customer-facing roles.

Excellent verbal communication skills in fluent English are essential, as this role requires having sensitive conversations and managing customer expectations effectively. Good written and analytical skills are equally important, therefore a GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Math’s is fundamental. A full driving license is also required as visits to clients in the community will be part of the role.

For discussion prior to application, please contact Pauline Suleyman pauline.suleyman@broxbourne.gov.uk

This role requires a disclosure and barring service check as it is working with children or vulnerable clients.

We pride ourselves on recruiting, developing and retaining talent who share this commitment.

We are committed to safer recruitment, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

The Council’s benefits package includes generous leave entitlement, a full training and development programme, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme and free membership to the Council’s local leisure centres, which includes free access to gyms, swimming pools, fitness classes, racket sport sessions, a health suite and a range of generous discounts across other leisure and culture services.
