We’re looking for a Retail Team Member to welcome visitors to the National Trust shop at Sheffield Park & Garden, to answer their questions and help them make the most of their day. Working in a small team, tasks are varied and active, including looking after our Plant Shop as well as serving and helping to maintain our well-stocked and busy gift shop.
Salary: £12.25 per hour
Contract/duration: Fixed Term Contract until 26-Jul-2026
Hours/working pattern: This is a zero-hour contract, meaning we can’t guarantee a set number of hours each week. While we aim to provide a consistent work pattern, flexibility is needed as schedules may change based on business needs. We’ll try to give as much notice as possible. The role includes weekends and Bank Holidays but does not require evening or split shifts.
Typical shifts, 3 to 4 days a week, to include one weekend day most weeks.
Potential start date: ASAP

What you'll be doing
As a member of the retail team, you’ll be offering visitors help and advice with their shopping. You’ll have high standards of presentation in the shop while providing excellent service to all customers.
You’ll also be able to talk to them about how everything they buy helps to fund the work of the National Trust. Other duties may include arranging, receiving and unpacking deliveries, creating shop displays and working with others in the team to keep the shop floor clean and organised, and presented in line with brand standards. The Plant Shop is also a part of the Shop, and duties extend to this outside area too.
