Your new role
As a lead lawyer in the team, you'll be responsible for providing high-level legal advice on planning and highways matters. You will handle a wide range of complex legal matters including s106 and s278 agreements, highways law, rights of way, and environmental issues. You will also contribute to public law discussions, and represent the council in public inquiries.

What you'll need to succeed
A successful candidate will be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives with extensive experience in planning and highways law, court procedures and local government law. Previous experience in local government would be beneficial. You will also have a proactive, collaborative approach and a passion for public service.
