Crynodeb
The following are the core responsibilities of the Clinical Coder. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks. This will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels. Accurately clinically code key data on the clinical system (SystmOne) into the patient record following the established Coding Protocol and Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) guidelines. Screen all incoming medical correspondence/discharge summaries, entering key data and selecting and directing appropriate information for clinicians attention adhering to the practice policy. Ensure workflow to appropriate team/clinician for detailed actions identified on the correspondence Scanning patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients healthcare records The post holder must have a working knowledge and experience of medical terminology and the Summary Care Record, problem linking and previous experience in clinical coding and summarising. Maintaining a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
