Jennifer Griffiths Recruitment are currently recruiting for a detail orientated Purchasing Administrator to join our well-established client based in Bridgend.
Location: Bridgend
Employment Type: Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:30 – 17:00 and Friday 08:30 – 13:30
Salary: £26,000 to £28,000
The Purchasing Administrator will be supporting and coordinating the purchasing function to ensure the optimal delivery of materials and parts within set budgets and timescales.

Key Responsibilities:
• Support in the purchasing of defined materials from approved suppliers at the best commercial terms and delivery schedule.
• Monitor supply vs demand schedules; progress purchase orders and past due deliveries with suppliers and update the ERP system accordingly.
• Run reports to monitor delivery backlog / any material shortages, working closely with other teams within the supply chain and update order dates and production schedules.
• Develop supplier relationships to ensure 1-Page Plan (1PP) objectives (e.g. on time delivery performance, supplier performance, kit completion) are met.
• Generate works orders to create demand for purchasing; utilising production bills of materials.
• Carry out non-conformance activities such as corrective and preventative actions with vendors – plus maintain statistics against supplier for best value projects.
• Day to day management of the ERP system including processing works orders to ensure timely delivery of components to support production.
• Prepare and submit quotations for cost down / /best value / consolidation exercises with supplier. Standard costing / Price matrix maintenance.
• Undertake any other projects and duties as requested which are within the competence of the job holder.
Experience and Personal Qualities:
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, this is a key role to facilitate the smooth and timely delivery of materials to support operational activities, working collaboratively across all departments. Ideally you will have previous experience in a similar role working with ERP systems.
• Competent user of Microsoft applications including Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential to engage with internal and external contacts, effectively gather information and express instructions clearly.
• Accuracy and a high level of attention to detail with excellent planning skills to manage time, resources and conflicting / changing priorities and meet deadlines.
