Teaching Assistant (TA) - SLD & PMLD School (Ages 3-19)
Location: Chelmsford
Pay: £95 - £115 per day
Monday to Friday
Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a background in supporting children and young people with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)?
We are seeking dedicated and resilient TAs to join a specialist school catering for pupils aged 3-19. This is a highly rewarding but also challenging role, where patience, empathy, and professional experience are essential.
Alongside the staff you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.
What the role involves:
- Supporting pupils with complex needs both in the classroom and during daily routines
- Assisting with personal care, mobility, and communication needs
- Working closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to deliver tailored learning plans
- Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and progress
- Ensuring a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
What we're looking for:
- Previous experience working with SLD and/or PMLD (essential)
- Strong behaviour management skills and resilience in challenging situations
- A caring, patient, and adaptable approach
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to supporting every pupil to achieve their potentia

o Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service
o Eligibility to work in the UK
