We have a rare and exciting opportunity to join Elm Ward as a Registered Nursing Associate. Elm Ward is an acute 33 bedded ward which specialises in the care of Trauma and Orthopaedic patients, predominantly those who have sustained femoral fractures. We are a fast paced and forward thinking ward, with a passion for delivering high quality patient care to all of our patients.

Working on Elm means joining a dynamic Multidisciplinary Team. Selected as a finalist for QEH 'Clinical Team of the year', we work together to ensure great patient outcomes for those in our care. We are pioneers in the care of femoral fracture patients, exceeding the national average in all key performance indicators on the National Hip Fracture database. It's a really great time to join Team Elm!

As a Registered Nursing Associate, you will:
• Act in the best interest of the patients and their families
• Put people first and provide nursing care that is person centred, safe and compassionate
• Act professionally at all times and in line with organisations trust values and behaviours
• Use knowledge and and experience to make evidence-based decisions and solve problems
• Recognise and work within limits of own competence as defined by the NMC standards of proficiency
• Be able to identify own role boundaries
• Be responsible for own actions and omissions and escalate concerns appropriately

Registered Nursing Associates will adhere to Nursing and Midwifery code of Conduct for Nurse, Midwives and Nursing Associates and work within their scope of practice following the professional professional standards of practice and behaviours for nurses, midwives, and nursing associates and the standards of proficiency for nursing associates.

Integral to this role is the ability to communicate effectively with sensitivity and compassion and to manage relationships with people making reasonable adjustments where necessary.

There’s never been a more exciting time to join Team QEH. We’re working on a once in a generation opportunity to build a new state-of-the-art hospital due to open in 2031/32 and we are also carrying out on one of the biggest pieces of digital transformation work we’ve ever undertaken.

Our new electronic patient record (EPR) will replace paper-based patient records from 2026 and will lead to better, safer, joined-up care at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and beyond.

At The QEH we provide a comprehensive range of specialist, acute, obstetrics and community-based services to around 331,000 people across west and north Norfolk, North Cambs and South Lincs.

We are an ambitious organisation that upholds our values of kindness, wellness and fairness. We strive for continuous quality improvement, recently demonstrated in our 2024 CQC maternity inspection rating our services as ‘Good’, and we are proud to be a place to learn and grow through recognised learning and apprenticeships.

We recognise and reward our 4,000 staff and volunteers, priding ourselves on a community atmosphere and positive team spirit. We have approx. 530 beds across 33 wards and have newly built education and training facilities, a range of modern award-winning centres alongside a talented team of people ready to give you a warm welcome. We love working here and think you will too.
