The University of Southampton is passionate about the wellbeing of our students. We have an exciting opportunity to join us as Student Wellbeing Outreach Team Leader within our Student Wellbeing Service.
Our service provides a range of specialist support to students throughout their studies, helping them to make the most of their time at university and thrive in their future lives and careers.
As Student Wellbeing Outreach Team Leader, you will:
Lead with confidence – Manage and support a team of Wellbeing Advisors, setting clear objectives, monitoring performance, and fostering professional development.
Ensure proactive student support – Oversee the delivery of outreach and early intervention activities that promote positive wellbeing across the student community.
Collaborate across the university – Work closely with academic and professional services teams to ensure a joined-up approach to student wellbeing.
Build external partnerships – Maintain strong relationships with health professionals, public protection providers, and other organisations to ensure students receive the right support at the right time.
This role is based on Highfield Campus with standard working hours (Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm). Occasional evening weekend work may be required for university-wide events such as open days.
About You

Strong skills in managing complex or challenging situations.
The ability to work collaboratively in multi-agency environments and apply sound judgment in high-pressure situations.
A commitment to inclusivity, continuous improvement, and delivering an exceptional student experience.
Experience in Higher Education is desirable but not essential.
