Connect with what you’ll do:
In your role you’ll:
- Be responsible for identifying, reporting, monitoring and mitigating health and safety concerns and hazards including fire risks
- Ensure communal areas are clean and well maintained
- Manage and motivate a team of Caretakers through regular one to ones, coaching, development and performance reviews.
- Complete risk assessments on activities and tasks carried out by the team, ensuring safety observation inspections are completed and recorded and action taken
- Ensure the team have the appropriate skills, equipment and training to carry out their job role safely
- Complete inspections to ensure that standards are being met, and any risks/repairs are identified and reported
- Manage the ground maintenance contract, ensuring standards are met and landscape areas are safe, aesthetically pleasing and well maintained
- Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations, managing and removing fly tipping and hazardous waste appropriately
- Work closely with local authority and key partners to ensure good quality waste management/recycling are in place
- Manage the day-to-day operations of all estate services contracts including garages, ground maintenance, tree maintenance and planting, window and gutter cleaning
- Take responsibility for the management and maintenance of vehicles
- Contribute to the success of business plans including maintaining high customer engagement and complaint resolution avoiding escalation to the housing ombudsman
- Work collaboratively with other teams and external agencies to address anti social behaviour, non-compliance, service failures and report safeguarding concerns
- Lead and coordinate on community events to raise customer and employee engagement
