24 hours a day, every day, RNLI lifesavers are ready to launch to the rescue.
We have an opportunity at our Thurso Lifeboat Station for a Senior
Station Technician whose mechanical expertise, resilience, leadership, and
management skills are just as strong as their ability to keep Thurso Lifeboat
in perfect operational order.
As a Senior Station Technician, most of your time will be utilised ensuring
that our Severn Class All Weather Lifeboat, D Class Inshore Lifeboat and
associated equipment work to the highest order, ensuring that the Lifeboat
Station is well managed, and assist training volunteer crew members - so
that when a service call does occur, you, your crew and your lifeboat will be
absolutely prepared.
To be successful, you’ll have an NVQ L4/SVQ L5 in an engineering discipline,
a time-served engineering apprenticeship, a sound background and
experience in mechanical, electrical, or electronic engineering - or be willing
to work towards this. Attitude and willingness to progress and learn are
most important.
