This is a part-time role working 1 day per week (7.5 hours).
Interviews for this role will take place on-site, at one of our college campuses in Weston-super-Mare.
Within this role you will mainly be delivering the training and assessing required for our Port Operative Apprentices with the Bristol Port Company.
You may also be expected to travel to our South West Skills Campus in Weston-super-Mare, where our Engineering department is based.
A temporary Recruitment and Retention Premia of approx. £600 per annum is attached to this post, which is a separate payment in addition to the normal salary. A review of market conditions will be carried out 6 months prior to the proposed end date (two years from the date of commencement) to establish if the Recruitment and Retention Premia should continue. Further information on Recruitment and Retention Premia payments is available on request.
Day to day duties
- Providing high-quality, innovative teaching, learning, assessment, and internal moderation across a range of work-based learning courses from Level 2-6 in alignment with awarding organisations and/or IfATE standards.
- Promote engagement in personal development opportunities including social action and community activities.
- Produce bespoke apprenticeship Career Development Plans that include individual development and industry enrichment, ensuring employers are involved in creating and updating these through participation in reviews of progress.
Required skills and qualifications
- Relevant occupational experience and knowlege of the Industry / sector.
- Knowledge of work based learning and apprenticeship provision.

*All candidates must possess a relevant recognised assessing qualification or be prepared to gain this qualification within the first year of service, with the assistance of the College
