ROLE DESCRIPTION
Newcastle College requires a dedicated, enthusiastic and qualified person to take on the role of Lecturer in Construction within Foundation Learning.
The main responsibilities of this role include the delivery and assessment of high-quality construction-focused learning programmes in Foundation Learning, across a range of levels of further education, as well as undertaking a range of programme leadership, tutorial and programme administration duties.
This post requires a candidate with a strong background in supporting learners at entry and Level 1, ideally with experience of delivering construction-based vocational skills. The successful applicant must have a proven track record of developing employability skills, promoting independence and preparing learners for progression into further education, employment or training within the construction and wider built environment sectors.
The candidate must be qualified to honours degree level (Level 6) or qualified to an industry-recognised standard in a relevant construction field, hold a post-16 teaching qualification and English and maths qualifications at level 2, or be willing to achieve these within an agreed timeframe. It is desirable that the candidate has experience of effective programme leadership in FE, HE and/or Apprenticeships and has a proven track record of successful teaching and assessment practice, particularly within construction or related vocational pathways.
