Join Compaid as our new Digital Skills Manager
Minimum 28 hours per week
FTE £27300
For over 40 years, Compaid has helped thousands of disabled, disadvantaged, and vulnerable people across Kent gain independence and confidence. Today, digital skills are essential to everyday life — yet many in our communities are at risk of being excluded.
That’s where we step in. Our One Digital strategy is transforming Compaid into a modern, joined-up service, bringing together our Training Centre, outreach programmes, and innovative new offers like small group sessions, drop-ins, and digital hubs.
We’re now looking for a Digital Skills Manager to lead this exciting journey.
The Role
This is a dynamic leadership role that blends operational management with strategic innovation. You’ll be responsible for our Training Centre in Paddock Wood and our community Outreach service, shaping them into one integrated digital inclusion programme.
Key parts of the job:
- Leading and inspiring staff, trainers, and volunteers.
- Overseeing client referrals, assessments, and progression into further learning, volunteering, or work.
- Delivering and developing services — from 1:1 support to group sessions and outreach drop-ins.
- Piloting new ideas (like fee-paying courses and digital hubs) to expand our reach and sustainability.
- Building partnerships with councils, commissioners, employers, and local organisations.
- Championing Compaid’s role as a flagship digital inclusion charity in Kent.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in managing staff and volunteers in a training or community setting.
- Skilled in delivering or coordinating digital skills or adult/community learning.
- A confident leader with great organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Empathetic, approachable, and passionate about digital inclusion.
- Comfortable with IT and open to embracing new digital tools.
It would be a bonus if you also have:
- Experience in outreach or service development.
- Knowledge of assistive technology.
- A teaching or training qualification.
Why Join Us?
This is more than just managing a service. It’s about being part of a bold transformation, shaping the future of digital inclusion in Kent. You’ll have the freedom to innovate, the support of a passionate team, and the opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives.
At Compaid, we believe no one should be left behind in a digital-first world. If you share that belief, we’d love to hear from you.
How to Apply
To apply, complete an application form available on our website, www.compaid.org.uk together with your CV and a covering letter (explaining how you meet the person specification)
