Job Title: Cleaning Operative (Night)Rate of Pay: £12.80 per hourContract: Permanent, Full TimeWeekly Contractual Hours: 37.5 (11PM - 7AM)Location: Reading Railway Station, Station Hill, Reading, Berkshire, England, RG1 1LZ

As a Cleaning Operative, you will be a vital part of our night cleaning team, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout Reading Station. This includes all public and staff-accessible areas such as platforms, lifts, toilets, washrooms, and any other designated zones.

Key Responsibilities:

-Perform general cleaning duties across the station, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and waste disposal.

-Maintain cleanliness in high-traffic areas such as washrooms, lifts, and platforms.

-Use appropriate cleaning equipment, tools, and products in line with training and safety guidelines.

-Ensure all cleaning equipment is kept clean, well-maintained, and in safe working condition.

-Respond promptly to ad-hoc cleaning requests or incidents as directed by Supervisors or Managers.

-Adhere to all Health & Safety regulations, company policies, and site-specific procedures (full training will be provided).

-Accurately log tasks and comply with operational procedures using our internal system, Merlin.

Requirements:

-Ability to work night shifts reliably and independently as part of a team.

-Willingness to undertake full Health & Safety and equipment training.

-A proactive approach with strong attention to detail and time management.

-Must be comfortable using a digital reporting system (training on Merlin will be provided).

We are looking for a motivated, reliable, and hardworking individual to join our amazing team. We would like our new colleague to be flexible in their approach to the role plus to be comfortable working as part of a team. No experience necessary as full training will be provided. You'll be required to complete a Basic Disclosure Check and may be required to undertake a drug and alcohol screening test. Nothing scary, we'll support you through this.
