The Role
Could you inspire adults to develop their English language skills? Do you have the experience and qualifications to deliver high quality teaching to diverse learners?
At Westway Trust, we are looking for an experienced ESOL Tutor to join our Adult and Community Learning team. This is a part-time, term-time role delivering classes across the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC).
You will design and deliver learner-centred ESOL courses from pre-entry to Level 2. Your focus will be to create engaging, inclusive sessions that help adults progress in their learning, meet personal goals and gain confidence in English. Courses and teaching locations may vary by term.

Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare and deliver teaching in line with curriculum requirements and learner needs.
Assess learners’ abilities and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
Support learners with tailored advice, guidance and individual feedback.
Monitor progress and maintain accurate records of attendance and assessment.
Register new learners, carry out initial assessments, and prepare students for accredited and non-accredited assessments.
Maintain course files, submit accurate data and complete required administration within deadlines.
Work with colleagues to share best practice, develop programmes and contribute to self-assessment and improvement planning.
Undertake regular CPD and required training (e.g. safeguarding and Prevent).

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Proven successful track record of planning and delivering high quality teaching of accredited and non-accredited provision in a relevant subject and at appropriate level(s),
Experience of teaching adult learners of mixed abilities and an understanding of appropriate teaching strategies in a similar role.
Experience of managing mixed groups of learners.
Understanding of the RARPA (Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement in non-accredited learning) system (desirable).
Experience of working/teaching refugees and or asylum seekers (desirable).
The ability to speak another language (desirable).
