G3 Systems has recently secured a fixed-term UK service engineering contract dealing with Precision Gunnery Training Equipment (PGTE). To support this exciting programme, we are seeking a Field Services Engineer to join our team delivering first-class technical support.
Role Overview:
As a Field Service Engineer, you will provide in-service support for the PGTE located at various sites in the UK. This is a hands-on role where flexibility, problem-solving, and a strong technical (electronic/electrical) background are essential. As this role involves working on MoD sites, it is essential that the successful applicants are able to obtain Security Clearance before commencing any duties.
Task description:
• In-service technical support to the Precision Gunnery Training Equipment (PGTE) and TERRIER® Training Systems (TTS) located at AFV Gunnery Schools in Tidworth, Wiltshire and Lulworth, Dorset
• Provide onsite support to the user in the training of military personnel on the training system operations as required to meet contractual requirements.
• Monitor the safe operation of training systems during training.
• Travel and work off-site to support call-outs and carry out scheduled maintenance of training systems at other locations around the UK. This may include overnight stays dependent on location.
• Submission and completion of all necessary reports and paperwork
• Promote and maintain a safe system of work ethos and comply with the G3 Systems Quality, Environmental, Safety & Health policy
• Comply with G3 Systems IMS operating procedures.
Qualifications Required:
• Formal Electronic/Electrical qualification and/or evidence that they are a
Suitably Qualified, Experienced Person.
• IOSH Working Safely Self-motivated and enthusiastic
• IT skills MS office, word excel,
Skills Required (Essential unless stated otherwise):
• Full Driving License
• Preferably an Ex Gunner Mechanic (RAC), Electrical Mechanic, Gun Fitter (REME), or
• Electro-mechanical engineering background
• Electronics biased background
• Self-motivated and enthusiastic
• Strong ability to work to deadlines and prioritise workloads
• IT skills MS office, word excel,
• Ability to communicate orally, in writing, produce reports technical / non-technical and give presentations.
• Security Cleared or be able to achieve security clearance
Remuneration & Benefits:
• Salary starting from £35,000 per annum (subject to & based on experience)
• Currently fixed term until 31 March 2027
• 37.5 hour working week
• 25 days annual leave
