About the Role
Security Management South West Limited is looking for a reliable and professional Static Security Officer to join our growing team in Totnes.
This full-time, night shift position follows a 4 on / 4 off rota, offering consistent hours and work-life balance.
You’ll play a key role in safeguarding premises, ensuring the safety of people, property, and assets during overnight hours.
Key Responsibilities
Site Security: Maintain a visible presence on-site, ensuring access control and deterring unauthorized access or suspicious activity.
Incident Management: Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, emergencies, or disturbances, following company and client procedures.
Regular Checks: Conduct routine patrols of the premises, checking for signs of damage, intrusion, or hazards.
Reporting: Record all activities, incidents, and observations in detailed shift logs. Communicate with control room and site supervisors as required.
Customer Service: Greet and assist any authorized personnel or visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
Health & Safety: Follow all site-specific safety procedures and report any issues immediately.
Essential Requirements
SIA Licence: Valid SIA licence is required
Driving Licence: A full UK driving licence is required
Communication Skills: Clear verbal and written communication for reporting and liaising with clients or emergency services
Experience: Previous security experience is beneficial, though full training will be provided
Preferred Requirements
Reliability: Punctual and dependable, especially for overnight work
Attention to Detail: Observant and thorough in monitoring and patrolling
Problem Solving: Able to think on your feet and make calm, quick decisions
Professional Demeanour: Presentable and courteous at all times
Working Hours
Shift Pattern: 4 nights on / 4 nights off
Shift Times: 21:00 - 06:00
