Crynodeb
Classic Dressage are looking for someone who
enjoys the handling and grooming side of the job, this role is aimed at those aspiring competition grooms out there, who want the
experience of working with and handling a range of top class horses to include
youngstock and stallions.
There may be the opportunity to attend national and
international shows for the right individual.
You will be required to complete general duties to include;
•Turning out/bringing in
•Tack cleaning
•Tacking up
•Feeding
•Filling hay nets
•Clipping/pulling/plaiting/trimming
•Mucking Out
•Rug changing
•Schooling
•Riding
•First aid
•Exercising horses from the
ground (lunging, horse walker, long reining, pessoa training etc.)
•Holding for
vet/farrier/dentist
This apprenticeship allows you to learn from top trainers in the industry up to Olympic Level. There is also a shop onsite and the possibility of attending trade fairs.
The apprenticeship is based onsite in a practical setting so not lots of time sitting in the classroom. If you did not achieve your Maths & English GCSE's at school we can support you to gain these whilst on programme.
The interview will consist of a trial day at the yard.
In order to apply for this role you have to be a UK resident or have lived in the EU for 3 years or more.
Training
All training will be provided on
site during your paid working hours.
Your day to day mentoring will be with your employer, and a combination
of online and in person monthly sessions will be held with your Haddon Training
Trainer Coach.
Qualifications required
A GCSE or equivalent pass in English
and maths is beneficial but not essential.
If you do not have passes, we will support you in achieving your
Functional Skills English and maths qualifications alongside your apprenticeship.
Skills required
Experience with horses a must
Prospects
Learn from Olympic level riders
Progress to L3 senior groom
Possibility of permanent employment once apprenticeship finishes
