Are you passionate about supporting young learners and making a real difference in the classroom? At Hays Education, we're working in partnership with a thriving secondary school in Preston to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support Year 8 students.
Your new role
As a Teaching Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting pupils both in and out of the classroom. You'll work closely with teaching staff to deliver tailored support to students, helping to raise attainment and engagement across a range of subjects. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic school environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to Year 8 pupils
- Assist with lesson preparation and classroom activities
- Support students with additional learning needs (SEND)
- Promote positive behaviour and a safe learning environment
- Collaborate with teachers and pastoral staff to monitor progress
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience working with children or young people (school-based or similar setting)
- A genuine passion for education and pupil development
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive and flexible approach to supporting learning
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one through Hays)
