Our client Dounreay based in Thurso are recruiting a Management Accounts Assistant to join them on a long-term contract, initially for 12 months.


Job Description
A vacancy has arisen within finance directorate for management accounts assistants, to cover a fixed period of 12 months. The purpose of the post is to provide a management and financial accounting service to Dounreay.

We are looking for someone to join our team who has the ability to support the finance function ensuring consistency in all areas. They should have a good understanding of team working principles, behaviours and dynamics and be able to collaborate with Dounreay and NRS colleagues to initiate and implement best practice. Knowledge and understanding of U4BW or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) system would be advantageous.

Responsibilities:


• Provide management and financial accounting reports and commentary to Dounreay and NDA
• Prepare and issue monthly NDA reports/invoices and supporting documentation
• Manage and reconcile Dounreay/NDA accounts
• Analyse transactions and reconciliations within the balance sheet and profit and loss account taking corrective action
• Maintain the Dounreay financial structures within U4BW
• Maintain records on Dounreay restructuring programme, prepare payments to pensions admin office and allocate charges accordingly
• Review and update working instructions and procedures
• Manage the delegations database
• Perform the responsibilities of management appointments relevant to the post Aptitudes, qualifications and experience:

• HNC in Accounting or equivalent qualification plus experience
• Demonstrable experience in a finance role, managing and developing teams
• Ability to analyse numerical data in a logical and accurate manner
• Excellent communications skills, written and verbal
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
• Post specific physical capability analysis
