Crynodeb

Fancy a change? Do you want to use your accountancy skills and knowledge to make a real difference to communities? Do you like the idea of working in a small team where you’ll have your own caseload, flexible working, and plenty of training and development opportunities?

WYCAS are recruiting for a Community Accountant
Temporary until March 31st 2026

£33, 621 per annum (full-time) £20,173 (actual salary)
Pension 5% fixed employer contribution
21 hours over 3 days (based on 35 hours working week)
Hybrid working 1 day in the Leeds office and 2 days at home per week

The Organisation:
WYCAS CIO is a charity, established in 1999. We provide essential accountancy support (including end of year accounts and Independent Examinations) to more than 600 third sector organisations across West Yorkshire. We are a small team of 13, based in Leeds. We know that our people are our greatest asset and our Board is committed to developing our staff. You’ll get lots of support, flexibility, training, and a wide variety of work. Plus you will be working every day with charities and community groups who really make a difference to people’s lives.

The Role:

• Preparing year end accounts for third sector organisations
• Undertaking Independent Examinations.
• Providing advice and support to groups on topics such as QuickBooks, management accounts etc.
• Working within a small team to share skills and expertise
• Temporary until March 2026

You:

You will be an experienced accountant with excellent technical knowledge and good communication skills. If you have experience of producing charity accounts, that’s great, but it’s not essential. There will be lots of in- house training, so you will need to be committed to increasing your knowledge and skills. (We’ll pay for your CPD and professional membership fees to help with that). You will be really good at managing your time and caseload, and at liaising with clients.

If you would like to find out more about what WYCAS does, or if you’ve got any questions about the role, give our Chief Exec, Amanda Peters, a call on 07985289412.
