Are you an experienced Occupational Therapists looking for a new challenge? Would you like to work in a dynamic highly experienced team? Do you enjoy the challenge of supporting people with neurological conditions, with their person centred goals? If this is you come and join our team.
You will join our dynamic multi-disciplinary Community Neuro team, based in Harpenden Memorial Hospital, consisting of OTs, physios, Clinical Psychologists, Nurses and rehab assistants, and supported by administrators. You will be involved in assessment therapy and management of people who have a range of neurological disorders, with a special interest in acquired brain injury. This will involve seeing people in our newly refurbished clinic spaces at Harpenden Memorial Hospital, and also seeing people in community settings and their own homes.
You will be part of a supportive team, ABI and wider neuro team, and have opportunities for development of your neuro -rehabilitation skills through regular supervision, in-service training and joint working opportunities.
• To be an active member of CLCH inter-disciplinary Community Neuro Service providing support and direction for the junior staff.
• To assess and treat own caseload of clients who are within the Community Neuro pathway, with a range of neurological conditions but holding a caseload of patients with Acquired Brain injury (ABI)
• To work within professional standards and clinical guidelines, promote best practice and to undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner
• To build up and maintain key relationships with associated services including referrers and other agencies.
• To take lead role for occupational therapy in the area of ABI, prioritising and ensuring a timely response for assessments.
• To be responsible for the supervision and line management of junior staff, including Band 6 occupational therapists, rehabilitation assistants and occupational therapy students.
