About the Role:We are seeking a reliable, proactive, and skilled Caretaker to join our friendly team at a vibrant primary school in Lewisham. This is a key role in ensuring the school environment is safe, secure, and well-maintained for pupils, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily maintenance and upkeep of the school premises
- Carrying out minor repairs and maintenance tasks (e.g. plumbing, carpentry, painting)
- Ensuring health and safety standards are met across the site
- Opening and closing the school premises
- Liaising with contractors and overseeing site works
- Supporting with deliveries and general site logistics
- Responding to emergency maintenance issues promptly
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar caretaker or facilities role
- Strong maintenance skills and practical knowledge of building maintenance
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Enhanced DBS check (required prior to appointment)
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- A positive, can-do attitude and commitment to supporting the school community
