Hours: 2–2.5 days per week (approx. 15–19 hours) that can be worked flexibly by mutual agreement. Evening/weekend hours may be required during busy periods.
Salary: £25,500 FTE pro rata.

About the Role
Help keep Hull Liberal Democrat! Hull Liberal Democrats are determined to see off the challenge from Labour and Reform UK to maintain control of Hull City Council in May 2026.
You’ll help the Hull Liberal Democrats recruit, organise and support volunteers so our campaigning runs smoothly. The role is primarily office-based and focuses on coordinating canvassing and delivery sessions, providing administrative support, and assisting with leaflet printing and distribution.
Key Responsibilities
Event coordination: Phone councillors, candidates and members to schedule canvassing/delivery sessions and other events; confirm meeting points, timings and leads; set up relevant databases and canvass packs and issue reminders and updates.
Administrative support: Make sure our databases are updated; handle inbox tasks and basic correspondence.
Leaflet printing & logistics: Assist in our print room team to print and fold leaflets, mailmerge letters, bundle materials for volunteers and ensure printed materials reach volunteer helpers.
Clerical support: help manage volunteers to label, write, stuff and sort envelopes. Oversee office clerical sessions.
Other tasks as directed by the Campaign Organiser.
Person Specification
Essential
Polite, confident telephone manner; able to build rapport quickly and communicate clearly.
Strong organisation and time-management skills; reliable with attention to detail.
Comfortable coordinating volunteers and chasing actions to completion.
Competent with everyday IT (email, spreadsheets, shared drives; willing to learn databases/CRMs).
Full UK driving licence and access to a car.
Supportive of the aims and values of the Liberal Democrats and comfortable working in a political environment.
Willingness to work evenings/weekends when workload demands.
Desirable
Experience in volunteer coordination, customer service, call-handling or administration.
Familiarity with basic print equipment.
Experience with data entry/CRMs and simple mail-merge tasks.
Local knowledge of Hull and community groups.
Basic familiarity with safeguarding and GDPR/data protection.
Experience volunteering with the Liberal Democrats.
