NIGHT SHIFT: QUALITY ASSURANCE TECHNICIAN
Location: Fresh-Pak (Part of The Compleat Food Group, Barnsley)
Hours: 20:00 PM – 08:00 AM 4 on 4 off
Salary: £35,000 per annum
We’re looking for a committed and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician to join our night shift team in a fast-paced
chilled food manufacturing environment. If you have a keen eye for detail, a passion for maintaining high standards, and thrive in
a structured setting, this role offers the perfect opportunity to make a real impact while working 4 on 4 off nights.
Your purpose will be to carry out QA tasks across all manufacturing areas, ensuring daily quality control records are accurately
maintained and any issues are swiftly identified to keep production running smoothly.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT
* Work safely at all times and comply with site rules, signage, and safety protocols
* Report hazards, unsafe conditions, injuries, and near misses promptly
* Participate in all Health, Safety & Environmental training and briefings
FOOD SAFETY & QUALITY
* Inspect materials and packaging to agreed specifications and record results
* Report non-conformances to the technical department
* Complete weekly quality attribute sheets for finished products
* Perform calibration checks on metal detectors and other equipment
* Verify product specifications, labels, weights, seals, and packaging integrity
* Conduct modified atmosphere checks and knife integrity inspections
* Collect and review production paperwork daily
* Identify and escalate any issues with raw materials, equipment, or finished goods
* Carry out any other reasonable duties as required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Experience:
* Previous experience in a chilled food manufacturing environment preferred
Skills & Qualifications:
* Good numeracy and literacy skills
* Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
* Level 2 HACCP and Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene
* Understanding of Health & Safety in food production
* Ability to follow instructions and work at pace to achieve deadlines
* Team player with a friendly, proactive attitude
