TeacherActive is working with a number of well-respected secondary schools in Glastonbury and the surrounding areas, seeking enthusiastic and professional Cover Supervisors to start immediately. These schools are known for their supportive leadership teams and inclusive environments — ideal settings for those looking to build confidence and experience in the classroom.

This is a particularly great opportunity for ECTs who want to gain hands-on experience, develop classroom management skills, and get a real feel for different school settings before stepping into a permanent teaching role.

The Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll deliver pre-set lessons in the absence of a class teacher, manage classroom behaviour, and support students aged 11–16 across a variety of subjects. There is no planning or marking required, making this an excellent entry point for ECTs looking to ease into full-time teaching responsibilities.

What We’re Looking For:

• A CACHE Level 2/3 qualification or a minimum of 6 months’ classroom-based experience

  
  

• Confidence leading lessons across different key stages (11–16)

  
  

• Strong behaviour management and communication skills

  
  

• A professional, proactive approach with a passion for education

  
  

• Availability to start immediately and commit to a consistent role

  
  

• ECTs are strongly encouraged to apply – this is a perfect opportunity to build your teaching portfolio
