Peterborough College is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic person to join our Library team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the successful learning experiences of our students.To assist in the day-to-day running of Library and Digital Learning Resource Services. To provide high quality customer service to staff and students. Support staff and students on all aspects of digital technology to support their learning and skills acquisition.What You'll Be Doing:Your main duties will include, but not be limited to:Operate the Heritage Cirqa computerised system for loans, membership, reservations enquiries, overdues, invoicing, notifications and entering new records.Assist with checking reading lists and respond to purchasing requests to create online orders.Raise purchasing orders, receive items, and send invoices via the Finance system.Process the new stock, following the stock processing procedures.Deal with general information enquiries using a wide range of printed and electronic resources including subject specific electronic resources, e-books and the VLEContribute to Digital Learning Resource Centre student inductionsLiaise with curriculum areas to promote usage of the Learning Resource CentreRepresent Learning Resource Centre at course team meetings and cross campus committeesSupervise students working in the Learning Resource Centre. Provide support to users on IT equipment and software to improve their digital literacy skillsCarry out general Digital Learning Resource Centre housekeeping tasks e.g. shelving, replacement of stock, repair, and renewalUndertake general administrative duties as requiredOther skillsDeliver, promote and support good practice in relation to equality, diversity and inclusion, and compliance with the IEG policies and proceduresCommitment to safeguarding and taking a shared responsibility to promote the welfare and a safe environment for children, young people and vulnerable adults learning within the groupPromote and consistently exemplify behaviours in line with IEG Core ValuesCo-operate with, promote and maintain a safe and healthy working environment and responsibility for own health and safetyThe post holder will normally be expected to use their knowledge, skills and experience to deal with work problems, prioritise their workload and take decisions commensurate with their post and its level of responsibilityAny other duties that are reasonable and commensurate with the level of the post as required and following consultation with the postholder
