An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join two highly successful practices in Mid Glamorgan.
The successful candidate will enjoy a varied caseload across both surgery and medicine, working alongside a surgery and dentistry certificate holder, a dedicated team of Vets committed to providing outstanding clinical care, and highly skilled Nurses who actively undertake Schedule 3 procedures.
The role is primarily based at the Merthyr Tydfil practice – a busy first opinion site with a large premises housing three consulting rooms, an operating theatre, and an imaging room. This site also sees a high number of ECC cases and benefits from VVS ultrasound support where needed. The position will also involve time at a second, smaller practice located in a charming Valleys town near Merthyr Tydfil, ensuring excellent collaboration and support across both teams.
This is a full-time role of 40 hours per week (three days at Merthyr Tydfil and one day at the smaller practice, with 1 in 4 Saturdays), but part-time options are open for discussion.
Candidate Profile
• RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon.
• Skilled in both medicine and surgery, delivering exceptional care to patients and clients alike.
• Strong team player with proven clinical leadership ability.
• Committed to supporting nurse consults and Schedule 3 procedures, recognising their value to clinical efficiency.
• Experienced in fostering a progressive clinical culture.
• Adept in using coaching and influencing skills to bring out the best in colleagues.
