Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Handyman to perform a wide range of repair, maintenance, and improvement tasks. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving abilities, practical technical knowledge, and a “can-do” attitude, ensuring facilities, equipment, and general property are safe, functional, and well-maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform general repair and maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and basic HVAC.
Carry out preventative maintenance to ensure equipment and facilities remain in good working order.
Diagnose issues, troubleshoot problems, and provide effective repair solutions.
Assemble furniture, fixtures, and equipment as required.
Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment, identifying potential hazards or issues.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff, tenants, or management.
Ensure work areas are clean, safe, and left in good condition after completion.
Source, order, or collect materials and supplies where necessary.
Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Handyman or in a similar role.
Good knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general repair techniques.
Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Physical stamina and ability to lift, climb, and perform manual tasks.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Good communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
Valid driver’s license (if required for role).
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification or vocational training in a trade (e.g., electrical, plumbing, carpentry) is an advantage.
Previous experience working in residential, commercial, or facilities maintenance.
Knowledge of basic building codes and safety regulations.
Working Conditions
May involve on-call work, evenings, or weekends depending on emergency needs.
Work both indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.
