Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant: Your Role
As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
• Provide 1-1 and small group support for pupils with ECHP’s, ensuing learning is tailored to their individual needs
• Supporting children with SEMH, autism and speech and language difficulties, adapting strategies to help them engage with learning
• Assist the class teacher and SENCO in preparing different resources and ensuring lessons are fully accessible
• Encourage pupil independence, resilience, and social interaction both inside and outside the classroom
Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant: Candidate Specification
We are seeking a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant who:
• Graduate from a top-30 or Rusell Group University with a 2:1 or above degree in Psychology, English, Child development, Social Sciences or related subject
• Strong understanding of SEN and SEMH needs and is able to support accordingly
• Confident working with pupils who have complex learning needs or Physical disabilities
• Aspire to progress into teaching, educational psychology or specialised SEN roles
