Web Dispatch Assistant
Full Time 40 Hours Per Week Including Weekends.
Role Summary
You will play a dual role: handling web order fulfilment (picking, packing, dispatch) and supporting the company website/e-commerce platform. Ensuring online orders are processed accurately, dispatched promptly, and that the website is kept up to date with accurate product information, promotions, stock levels and customer enquiries.
Key Responsibilities
Web Dispatch / Fulfilment
• Pick, pack and prepare online orders for dispatch.
• Ensure all orders are complete, correct, and meet quality standards.
• Handle returns, transfers, and stock receipting.
• Liaise with couriers: arrange collections, follow up on delayed or failed deliveries.
• Maintain the dispatch area: cleanliness, safety, health & safety compliance.
• Monitor stock levels for dispatched items; assist with re-ordering where necessary.
• Support with signing off invoices and ordering consumables.
Website / E-commerce Support
• Add new products to the online store: upload images, write or edit product copy.
• Update stock levels, availability, lead times.
• Set up promotions, special offers, multi-buys, and other marketing campaigns online.
• Handle online customer enquiries via email (and possibly phone) related to orders, product info, delivery, etc.
• Maintain and update website content: e.g. banners, blog posts, events, redirects, SEO housekeeping.
• Liaise with internal departments such as Marketing, Buyers, and Operations to ensure website content reflects current stock, promotions and company policy.
Skills & Experience
• Good communication skills - ability to liaise with multiple teams, suppliers, couriers and customers.
• Basic computer literacy; comfortable using inventory / dispatch / e-commerce systems. Desirable to have experience in any web content management (CMS), order management or stock management systems.
• Attention to detail - accurate picking/packing, correct product data, correct image & copy.
• Willingness to learn, flexible, proactive.
• Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
Physical / Other Requirements
• Physically fit- able to handle lifting, moving stock, walking/standing for long periods.
• Onsite presence required for dispatch duties.
• Flexibility to work some weekends / outside standard hours especially during peak times.
Desirable
• Experience in a similar role (dispatch/ e-commerce/ retail).
• Knowledge of SEO, basic HTML or CMS experience.
• Experience with website content updates, product photography or editing.
