The Security Assurance Business Support role provides essential comprehensive administrative and logistical business support to the Workplace Services Security Assurance Team and Operational Security Manager.
Workplace Services deliver modern, customer-focused, digitally connected and inclusive workplaces to enable government departments to share space and work productively.
They use both commercial expertise and insight from the central government estate to help clients meet their strategic property needs and secure the best deals. Offering additional consultancy services to clients, so that they can concentrate on their own business priorities. Services include property data, smarter working, sustainability, physical security, net zero design and inclusive design.
The Security Assurance Business Support role is key in coordinating activity, driving governance and performance and producing management data. This ensures that GPA meets its compliance and governance objectives to support risk informed decision making for the business.
Reporting to the Operational Security Manager, the post holder will have responsibility for coordinating and analysing all incident data, incident reports, performance data and leading on business continuity planning within the function.
The postholder will also engage with other GPA colleagues, internal and external stakeholders to improve and enhance the security culture across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Tracking and monitoring identified security risks
- Directly responsible for reviewing security communications and applying appropriate escalations
- Implementing and ensuring standards are adhered to (e.g. in line with DPA and GDPR)
- Acting as primary point of contact for government departments requesting Security Assurance information or support
- Ensuring accurate and timely data is captured across various security related systems
- Taking ownership of collating critical data for management report and presentations
- Identifying and assessing risks from intelligence and incident reports to ensure Business Continuity Plans are in place
