We’re looking for an experienced and driven planning professional to lead our Development Management team and help deliver our ambitious goals for housing, employment, skills, and carbon neutrality by 2030.

In this leadership role, you’ll oversee the day-to-day operations of the team, manage strategic planning applications, and drive performance improvements across the service. You’ll play a key part in shaping Cheltenham’s future—balancing growth with the conservation of our rich cultural, biodiversity, and heritage assets.

You’ll work closely with elected members, colleagues, and external stakeholders to support timely, high-quality decision-making. With a strong focus on innovation, customer service, and continuous improvement, you’ll help embed a forward-thinking, solution-focused culture within the planning service.
