We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and hardworking School Catering Assistant to join our vibrant kitchen team. You’ll play a vital role in preparing and serving nutritious meals to students and staff, helping to create a welcoming and hygienic dining environment that supports healthy eating and learning.
- Key Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and school policies.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen and dining areas.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
Set up and clear down the dining area before and after service.
Assist with stock rotation, deliveries, and food storage.
Follow food safety, health & safety, and allergen protocols.
Provide friendly customer service to pupils and staff during meal times.
Support themed food days and special school events when required.
- Requirements
Previous experience in catering or food service (preferred but not essential).
Basic food hygiene certificate (or willingness to obtain).
Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative.
Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
Physically fit and able to stand for long periods and lift light loads.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
