Crynodeb
To be responsible for the day-to-day oversight of a pre-treatment / preparation / treatment / review area in the department, ensuring high standards are maintained under the guidance of the specialist therapeutic radiographers. To undertake supervision responsibilities for a team, ensuring that departmental and Trust policies are applied consistently. To plan and / or deliver safe and accurate radiotherapy treatment. Develop and maintain a high level of clinical expertise in radiotherapy, acting as a knowledgeable and approachable resource for colleagues and contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care, with a focus on the quality elements of the service, including supporting the specialist therapeutic radiographers in the delivery of quality objectives. To use professional/ proficient knowledge to identify gaps in the evidence base, making a critical analysis of new evidence and its relevance, and contribute to this evidence base by supervising and participating in high quality audit and research programmes. To be involved with the development of radiotherapy services. To use advanced communication skills to support patients and carers in informed decision making about their care.
