Main Purpose of the Role
We are seeking a proactive Accounts Assistant to join our small, supportive, and well-established team. Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant, you will play a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial records through effective sales and purchase ledger management and support with month-end reporting.
Key Responsibilities
● Maintain and update cashflow forecasts
● Handle supplier payments and maintain customer/supplier ledgers
● Process expenses – both credit card and cash
● Maintain Shipamax queues and support CASS processes
● Prepare month-end reports and assist in variance analysis
● Perform profit & loss analysis and support accruals/prepayments with external accountants
● Assist in credit control, including chasing overdue payments
● Code invoices to the nominal ledger
● Liaise with customers, suppliers, and external accountants
● Answer telephone/email queries from stakeholders
● Support Senior Management Accountant with various reports and analysis
● Perform ad-hoc tasks and other reasonable duties as required
Skills & Competencies – Must Haves
● Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
● Confident in dealing with clients and suppliers
● High level of attention to detail and accuracy
● Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
● Proficient in Microsoft Excel
● Experience with Microsoft Outlook and email communication
