Key Responsibilities
Product Development
Assist with the design, testing, and development of fasteners, fixings, and engineered components.
Produce accurate CAD models, drawings, and specifications.
Testing & Standards
Carry out mechanical and stress testing to ensure compliance with ISO, DIN, and BS standards.
Support quality assurance processes for product reliability and consistency.
Process & Materials
Recommend materials, coatings, and finishes (zinc plating, passivation, stainless steel, etc.) for performance improvement.
Work on process optimisation to improve cost efficiency and product durability.
Technical Support
Provide guidance to sales and customer service teams on product selection and applications.
Offer technical solutions to customer requirements and support bespoke fastener projects.
Collaboration
Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure technical accuracy.
Work with the warehouse and e-commerce team to maintain accurate product data sheets and technical information online.
Requirements
Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
CAD design skills (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
Good understanding of thread standards (DIN, ISO, BS) and material properties.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Desirable Skills
Experience in the fasteners or related engineering industry.
Knowledge of surface treatments and coatings (zinc, yellow passivation, nickel, stainless steel).
Practical testing and product validation experience.
Product Development
