Inspire Independence: Learning Support Worker Opportunity
Are you passionate about helping autistic adults gain the skills and knowledge to enhance their
well-being, independence, and social inclusion? We're looking for dedicated and caring individuals to join our team as a Learning Support Worker (LSW I/II)!
The Role
You will play a vital role in supporting adult learners aged 1:1 or in small groups both at our adult centre and out in the
local community. You'll work through individualized curriculums to support holistic development and lifelong learning.
Key Responsibilities include:

Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons and activities to support the development of knowledge and skills.

Provide support, care, and teaching identified in individual learning plans.

Provide behaviourally based support and work to reduce behaviours that create barriers to learning and quality of life.

Assist learners with personal/intimate care where required, including toileting, dressing, and washing, to maintain acceptable hygiene levels.

Support participation in social, leisure, and educational activities within the community.

Facilitate decision-making, promoting choice and involvement to foster individual empowerment.

Collect, record, and analyse data on learners' progress to ensure effective support and teaching.

Once trained, administer medication according to company policies.

Essential Qualities & Experience:

Professional, personal, or voluntary experience working with adults or young people with disabilities.

Comfortable working with adults who exhibit challenging behaviour.

Interest in special educational needs, specifically autism , and a willingness to learn more about how best to support adult learners.

Passionate about helping others learn and develop skills.

Ability to
keep calm in high-pressure situations and work effectively as part of a team.

Ability to keep accurate records and reports to track learner progress.
Sound literacy and numeracy skills (Maths & English Language GCSE Grade C/4 or above is desirable).
Practical Details

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00-17:00. (Part-time options are available-please enquire upon application).

Annual Leave: 25 Days + Bank Holidays (plus up to 3 days allocated for Christmas Closure).

Safeguarding: The post holder will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
