Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with autism? We're seeking enthusiastic and committed individuals to join our specialist team as
Trainee CABAS Teachers in a school inspired by autism.
This is a fantastic opportunity to start or grow your career through practical and theoretical training in a supportive environment.
The RoleBased in our specialist CABAS school, you'll support autistic pupils using
behaviourally based instruction and positive reinforcement techniques to accelerate learning and help them achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide teaching and support to autistic pupils, following individualised curriculums.

Design, plan, and deliver teaching sessions, activities, and lessons in small groups or on a 1:1 basis.

Participate in breaktime duties and take part in extra-curricular and off-site activities.
-
Encourage good personal and environmental hygiene, including providing personal care (toileting, feeding) as needed.

Contribute to the production and maintenance of curricular and teaching materials.

Progress your personal development through ongoing professional training and develop your knowledge of autism spectrum disorders.
The ideal candidate will be caring, person-centred, and a positive team player.
Essential Requirements:
-
Professional, personal, or voluntary experience working with children and disabilities
-
Minimum Grade C/4 GCSE, or equivalent, in English Language & Maths.

Comfortable working with children who exhibit challenging behaviour.
-
Comfortable supporting others with personal/intimate care where required.
-
Ability to keep calm in high-pressure situations.
-
A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
-
Able to perform tasks of a physical nature, including twisting, stooping, and working at a lower height.
Desirable:
-
An Early Years qualification.

Hours: 36.75 hours per week - Full time: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 08:45am - 04:45pm, Tuesday 08:45am-05:30pm, and Friday 08:45am - 04:30pm.

Part-time working (3 or 4 days) is considered, but working days must include a Tuesday.

Holiday: 56 days school holiday plus Bank holidays.
