A Vacancy at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
As we grow and promote better patient care and experience, we are looking to recruit a highly motivated and innovative Healthcare Support Worker to join our Children’s Outpatients Team.
The working hours are either 09:00-17:00 or 08:30-16:30, but there may be occasional adjustments to accommodate clinic schedules, and will be required to work across site between Watford and Hemel Hempstead Children’s Outpatients.

Previous experience working with children or as a Healthcare Support Worker is essential.
The main duties and responsibilities are:
• Helping to run the clinics, and knowing all the different needs for each speciality.
• Restocking the trolleys, and consultation rooms.
• Helping to keep the department a safe place for the children to play while there for their appointment.
• ECG’s for patients.
With a new hospital planned for Watford and work underway to update theatres at St Albans City Hospital, this is an exciting time to join us.

• Measuring patients’ height and weight and recording on the appropriate documentation.
• Urinalysis and HbA1c for Diabetic clinics.
• ECG’s for any Consultant when required.
• Head circumferences.
• Teaching inhaler technique (after inhouse training).
• Spirometry and FeNo for respiratory clinics after training.
• Regular restocking of blood trolleys and ward stock.
• Blood pressure (manual and automatic).
• Venepuncture training.
