At Craigentinny we work with our children, families and the wider community to provide a nurturing, inclusive, safe and happy environment that inspires learning for all.
Craigentinny Primary School is a non-denominational school serving the Craigentinny and Restalrig areas of North Edinburgh. The school has a current role of around 300 children organised into 12 classes, with Enhanced Support Base classes. The school has positive, supportive links with parents, including Parent Council, the local community and other agencies enabling them to work in partnership.
We are looking to recruit a committed, highly motivated and enthusiastic Depute Head Teacher to lead the Enhanced Support Base the team at Craigentinny Primary School and will have some class commitment. The successful candidate be an outstanding classroom practitioner with good communication skills and with high expectations of staff and pupils, a team player and have knowledge and experience of working with children with additional support needs.
Our Senior Leadership Team consists of Head Teacher, Business Manager and two Principal teachers. Remits will be shared and negotiated across the Senior Leadership Team on appointment of the successful candidate. This post will have a partial teaching role.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
