Location:Hybrid role, work from home and the office (at The Town Hall, Wandsworth, SW18 2PU)

About the role

Your role will primarily focus on coordinating and delivering grants and running exciting sports programmes such as the London Youth Games. You’ll work closely with partner providers and agencies to maximise opportunities for participation in physical activity and exercise across the borough.

You will take the lead in developing, coordinating, and implementing several sports development initiatives. This includes overseeing the delivery of the London Youth Games and supporting a variety of other programmes within the Sport & Fitness Service.

You’ll be part of a small, dedicated sports development team. The role is full-time at 36 hours per week and may occasionally involve working unsocial hours, depending on programme needs. The role will also involve being out and about within the local community.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

We are looking for someone with a thorough knowledge of trends in the sports/leisure/health sectors and experience of research and development, to support our work with the voluntary sector.

You’ll have experience of partnership working, delivering impactful projects that meet budgets, political requirements and support delivery outcomes.

You’ll have excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and team members.

In addition, an understanding of Diversity, Equality and Inclusion in employment and provision of service are required.
