The Vale Learning Disability Day Service provides meaningful day opportunities to adults with a learning disability, who may also have a complex presentation of need. We are a person-centred, outcomes-led, community-based provision, which delivers day opportunities from day centre bases and in local community locations, serving citizens across the whole of the Vale. Pay Details: Grade 7 Spinal Points 20 - 25 £32,597 - £36,363
Hours of Work / Working Pattern: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Description:
You will work in the Learning Disability Day Service, providing effective management to a team of Day Service staff, ensuring delivery of outcome led, person centred support to people with learning disabilities and complex support needs. You will be supporting the Day Service Manager in the running of a high-quality day service and cover duties and tasks in their absence.
The role requires you to work to a clear value base that promotes strength-based practice, self-determination and social inclusion, promoting choice, well-being and the protection of all individuals; promote, embed and role model, core social care values within the service; monitor, review and evaluate team performance relating to the quality of planning, support and of outcomes achieved; ensure that suitable file audit procedures are in place and assist the manager in the file audit process; develop and sustain effective working relationships with individuals, their families/carers, multi-disciplinary care and assessment teams, and other agencies within the voluntary and statutory sector to ensure agreed outcomes are met; promote, monitor and maintain Health, Safety and Wellbeing in the workplace, undertaking effective risk management and assessing competence to maintain a safe and secure working environment and contribute to maximising the effective and efficient use of resources.
Although you will be provided with a base, you may be required to work from various locations in accordance with the needs of the role.
About you/You will need:
A full valid driving licence and the ability to drive/travel throughout the Vale or between locations as appropriate
NVQ/QCF Level 3 care related award or equivalent
Experience of actively contributing to the development and delivery of high quality, outcome led, person centred services to people with a learning disability
Experience of leading and managing people and performance in a Social Care context
Experience of effective partnership working with people who use services and their networks, with commissioners, health staff, community groups and other partner agencies
Experience of effective risk management including undertaking assessments of risk, developing safe working methods and actively contributing to maintaining a safe working environment
Experience of managing resources efficiently
Knowledge of relevant Social Care policy, best practice and key legislation and an understanding of their relevance to service delivery.
The ability to effectively monitor and evaluate the quality of the service being delivered, ensuring continued performance improvement
The ability to manage change effectively
Proven IT and digital technology skills
Proven literacy and numeric skills
