Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant: Role Responsibilities
As a Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant, you will:
• Support Science and Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4, helping students with key concepts
• Deliver 1-1 and small group interventions to help students catch up, reinforce foundational knowledge, or extend understanding
• Assist with practical work and experiments, ensuring health & safety standards are met and helping students safely use equipment
• Help with lesson preparation, designing visual aids, worksheets, and tech-enhanced resources when needed
Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant: Candidate Specification
KPi Education are on the lookout for a Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant who has:
• A 2:1 or higher degree in a STEM subject such as Maths, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science or Engineering
• Strong results in GCSEs and A-Levels, especially in science and maths
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to explain STEM ideas clearly and support different learner needs
• Initiative, resilience, and willingness to learn new teaching strategies and differentiate instruction
• A genuine interest in STEM education, wanting to build a career (teacher training, STEM outreach, educational technology etc.)
• Previous experience tutoring, mentoring or in a school setting is desirable though not essential
